The Big Wet Continues
Queanbeyan's low level bridge is still closed to traffic. The two bridges over the Queanbeyan river are now open. Heavy rain is forecast for later this week.
Rainfall figures for South Eastern Australia have being increasing over the last twenty year, yes it is getting wetter. Town's such a Wagga on the Muranbidgee River have had river levels top 10.6m.

The Big Wet
Southern NSW and Sydney has experienced the wettest February since the 1920's. Records all falling all the time.
We were able to get to work, driving over the lower bridge spanning the Queanbeyan River.
After
We drove over this bridge at 07:30 on Wednesday 29 February and by 09:00 it was flooded. This is one of two bridges that span the Queanbeyan River. If both bridges go under, one side of the town is cut off from another. Fortunately, this did not happen this week, but more rain is due next week.
Our usually route over the Molonglo River, was cut off with water hitting the 7m mark. (see pictures below)
